Golden Reel Award for Robo 2.o – Vetagadu

A proud moment for Resul Pookutty the sound Engineer for Robo 2.0 movie. Rajini and Director Shankar’s Sci-Fi film has mesmerised the audience few days back with international standards of film making. Now another proud moment for this film unit is that Robo 2.0 is nominated for Golden Reel Awards.

Golden Reel awards are the biggest honours for the sound editors across the globe. The sound engineer Resul Pookutty has shared this news to followers through his tweet. He shared a screenshot of the official mail received from the Golden Reel Awards.

In Golden Reel Awards, Robo 2.0 was nominated for sound editing foriegn language feature film category. The other movies nominated along with Robo 2.0 are The Happy Prince, The Guilty, Never Look Away and Winter Brothers.

“In the regular 3D sound technology while watching a movie in a theatre, you would find speakers on both the sides of you or even above you. But when it comes to 4D sound, you will find speakers under your seat too. You will have about 500+ outputs in 4D,” said the sources.

The film was shot in 3D but 2.0 was released in 4D Sound technology for the better experience and also the first time. As there are fewer theaters to handle this technology the film is released in 3D.

2.0 is the costliest film in India made with Rs. 600 crore budget. The movie is stared with Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil hussain in supporting roles. This movie has hit the theaters on november 29th.

The award ceremony will be held at Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles on 17th February.
